Pink Floyd “Us and Them”

I can hardly read, watch, or listen to any conservative political stories any more because of the inflammatory wording. Well, it’s the content too, I won’t lie, but it would be easier to expose myself to other’s points of view if they weren’t chock full of irritating key words and phrases.

It isn’t necessarily the content of what they say, it’s the way it’s said. I am instantly bristling when the author starts out by saying something about “left wing radicals” or even “they” as in “they all want to have everything for free”. It strongly points out the divide between. It’s us versus them.

Lately I am trying my best to be conscientious about not using words that would agitate me if I were on the receiving end of them.

The world would be better off if we all sugar coated our words just a little.
